American Chopper is an adventure gaming software for the teenagers, which provides a dynamic platform for them to build and ride personalized themed choppers, challenging their racing skills on a variety of missions and earning style points to unlock new bikes, along the way. The player will get to ride the signature theme bikes built by PaulSr. and Paul Jr., such the POW/MIA Bike, Jet Bike, Black Widow Bike, featured in the game show with the same name on the Discovery channel. You'd think a game based the show must be building some custom choppers so that you can create their own customized choppers and then put them through the paces. Even though there is a bike-building thread runs through American Chopper, it's so simplistic and disconnected from the rest of the game and we feel it like an afterthought. The bike-riding challenges take place in one of two modes ‘the open mode’ and ‘town mode’. The open mode lets you drive in one direction down an unfolding stretch of traffic-clogged highway. The town mode lets you drive freely through New York. The game consists of 10 chapters with two detours to chopper shows with each chapter features five or six challenges. The challenges that are not optional are required to be completed before so that you can unlock the following chapter. The challenges actually represent a pretty good variety of goals. There are different races to pass in each chapter some of them are straight checkpoint races, drag races and some races against the clock. At the end of each chapter, you get to add a couple of parts to your bike. There can be a great idea for a game buried in the Discovery Channel's hit reality TV show American Chopper. But this game can not fulfill the desire for customization of your own Bike, as it is just a racing game that features some appearances by characters and locations you've seen on TV.
